        Personal Line Quotes

  Faxing in the quote form

Step 1: Go to www.TheGeneralAgent.com and click on P&C login to Enter System.

Step 2: Click on Resources at the top of the page

Step 3: A new window will open up. Under forms click on ACORD

Step 4: Click on Personal Lines and click appropriate quote request form

Step 5: Get the general information from the client

For Auto Insurance:

  1. Fill out as much information on this form as possible, Social Security number and Driver's license numbers are important to get the most accurate rate. However if you do not have either please ask the client if they have had any infractions on their license such as tickets, DUI, etc.. within the past 5 years.  If you do not have their social ask them how they would rate their credit : Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor.  Then on the coversheet indicate that No License# or Social with the appropriate info beside it.  (i.e.  No License# No Social base quote on Good Driver with Fair Credit)

  2. Vehicle Make and Model is a must to run a quote

  3. Usage type is also needed (Business, Personal, Commute) Click here for more info on those terms  If commuter make sure to indicate 1 way mileage to work or school

  4. Get the approx Odometer reading along with approx mileage per year

  5. Indicate any features the vehicle may have for credit. Anti-Lock brakes, Security system, etc...

  6. If comparing their current coverage or only trying to get a quote for 1 coverage limit please fill out the limits of liability here.  Click here for more info on those terms If you would like to receive multiple (up to 3) different limit quotes please only fill out the additional options like Towing and Labor and Rental on the Acord application.  Indicate the limits on the Coversheet when faxing. (i.e.  Would like to get the best rates on the following coverage  25/50/15 with $750 ded. on comp and collision, 50/100/25 with $500 ded. on comp and collision, 50/100/25 with $750 ded. on comp and collision)

  7. Make sure to check your State Minimums Click here for more info on those terms

  8. Get any accidents or moving violations within the past 5 years.  Their DMV records will be pulled the carrier.

  9. Get Employer's address to verify 1 way mileage to their job.

Step 6: Once complete print out the from. Put YOUR PRODUCER NUMBER in the Producer Signature. Place coversheet along with the quote request. Put down the following on the coversheet.

  • Your Producer Number

  • Instructions on where to send quotes - Either Fax back or email to you

  • Special instructions if wanted additional (more than 1) quote limits.
